Homeless families support services system redesign
Key Points
- Requires Children’s Cabinet to create a cross-systems plan to support homeless families, in consultation with DHS, the Department of Education, Department of Health, Minnesota Housing Finance Agency, and other stakeholders.
- Specifies that components of the plan should include: urban versus rural distinctions in service delivery, training, uniform entry and intake forms, a support plan for child when no longer homeless, a common data system to allow for data sharing, transportation plan, and other items that would support communities and families.
- Allocates $200,000 to the Children’s Cabinet from the general fund to complete this plan, and issues a deadline of January 23, 2018.
