As the legislative activity at the Minnesota Legislature winds down, the Child Welfare Policy Blog will continue to provide a weekly update of happenings at the Capitol. In addition, starting this week, we will post a weekly blog entry dedicated to a special topic related to child welfare policy. We will tackle a different policy theme each month. This way, our readers can not only stay up-to-date with what is happening with the Minnesota legislature in terms of child welfare policy, but also gain an understanding about special issues in child welfare policy being studied and implemented across the country.
For the month of June, we will take a special look at international child welfare issues, particularly on policies related to international adoption, in honor of CASCW’s new Permanency and Adoption Competency Certificate. Tomorrow, we will discuss ways in which international child welfare practices impact Minnesota’s child welfare policies.
Let us know if you have ideas for other policy issues you’d like to see us cover during the “off-session.” Post your comments below.
