The Minnesota Senate approved a first round of budget cuts today, including permanent reductions to the state’s funding of the Child Protection System. Here’s a quick bit of coverage.
If you’ve been reading this blog, this is same bill we’ve been covering for the last couple weeks. The budget proposal passed the House (HF 130), now the Senate (SF 60). Next, since there are differences in the two versions of the bills, a conference committee will synchronize the proposal before sending it to Governor Dayton. If you have any sense of what the Governor’s response will be, please feel free to make a comment.
Since the Senate’s action just took place a couple hours before this post was written, there isn’t an abundance of coverage yet. This blog will be updated as more details become available.
